50,000 fans showed up to Yasiel Puig Bobblehead Night at Dodger Stadium Tuesday, as the right fielder notched two hits in the Dodgers’ 7-1 win over the Miami Marlins.

Yet his biggest moment occurred before the game, when the 23-year-old Cuban star’s mom, Maritza Valdes Gonzalez, celebrated a belated Mother’s Day by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch to her son.

Puig boasts one of the league’s strongest arms from right field, but his mother seems to have crafted her own unconventional throwing style.

Puig addressed the crowd afterward, wrapping his arm around his mother and announcing “It’s time for Dodger baseball!”
