Why All Moms Need To Start And Grow A Business

One thing you need as a mom is money - and plenty of it! However, you also need lots of time. You can’t expect to find that time – you have to create it.

It’s my belief that you have to create and protect your own destiny. We live in a day and age when it is easier than ever to start and grow your own business online (or to grow your brick-and-mortar business), especially now that so many businesses have pivoted to allow employee home working.

For me, paradoxically to some, building businesses whilst having children has enabled me to make more the time to become the best wife and mom I can be, even when things were tough (OK, I’ll take a punt and invite you to ask my husband and kids if you don’t believe me and hope I haven’t overstated that…)!

When you are a business owner, you can adjust your time and business strategy to match inflation. You have more flexibility as a business owner to meet the challenges associated with inflation and stagnating wage earning and to define your own paycheck.

Here are just a handful of more reasons why as a dad you should consider owning and growing a mom-owned business:

1. Independence – yes, you will work antisocial hours, owning a business is like having another baby, demanding constant attention, expenditure and worries.  But you are only answerable to who you want to be answerable to (most of the time) and if, like me, you like to do things your own way, it has feel-good factor.

2. Fulfillment -  if you have a desire to invent flying baby stroller or the next Amazon and Facebook, here’s your chance to go for your dreams and to create something special.

3. Helping others – you can give back to your local or global community by helping customers or clients and creating employment. I have helped thousands of people to grow their own businesses in my 40 years of commercial experience, and many of them have become friends who I still connect with in business!

4. Flexibility – in your lifestyle choices. I have really enjoyed being a hands-on working mom, and so building my own businesses from home was a no-brainer for me - you can enjoy that feeling of being able to take time off when others are answerable to a boss, seeing your children grow and being able to spend extra quality time with them. You might also want to take some recreational time for yourself on  a site like no deposit online casino canada, so that YOU can decide that you want some time off rather than your boss!

5 More Income potential – okay, it is a fact that most small businesses provide a living rather than making a fortune. But you have the potential to make far more money as a business owner and reap the rewards as it grows – remember the statistics about wages earlier in this article? You can adjust your business to the demands of the target market, and not be an employee who lives at the behest of some anonymous corporation that one morning decides to offload part of its operation and lay-off  a few thousand employees without any advance notice.

So if you are at the point where you want to start a business, grow your existing new business, or if you have been around for a while, you are looking for a fresh approach to how you can scale your business to the next level…

… then I am going to share with you a technique that I used to recover from disaster and to launch, grow and scale my businesses beyond anything I could have imagined so that I could meet my lifestyle goals.

This is one simple method that you should employ in your business, and which you can apply no matter its level, and which will help you to move forward quickly and without spending a bundle of cash on quick fixes that simply do not work! This works for all businesses.

Create Content!

Do your groundwork and homework - market research is essential!

If you do not have a business or are in the early stages of development, ask your potential customers in your business networks and social media groups what they are looking for.

If you have an established customer base, send them surveys and ask them what they would like to see from you - provide incentives such as discounts, offers or giveaways to encourage them to answer them.

Create your content with the answers to those vital questions in mind -  by going through, and adhering to this process, the final blog post will be:

One 22-year old You Tuber, Jimmy Donaldson has amassed a $15 million fortune in just 4 years, simply by creating viral videos! He has over 40 million subscribers.

So imagine if you did this for your business, just how many customers you could reach. You just have to create content relevant to your target audience, and these days, video is the best way to do it. Follow these tips as a guide.

Now that you know that you have to produce valuable content, you have to ask yourself (and answer, of course…if you don’t you will be wasting your time…!) the following key questions:

·                     How does this post help me make more sales?

·                     Does it attract potential clients?

·                     Does it lead into a product or service sales funnel on my website?

·                     How does this post help me or my company stand out as an authority in the niche?

·                     Does it accurately reflect my skills or my company’s skills?

·                     Is this topic going to solve a problem for my target audience or clientele?

·                     How will it help one or more of their struggles or desired outcomes?

·                     Will this content entice a potential client or customer into starting a conversation with you?

So the time is now to go for it, whether it is a side hustle, or you may have lost your job and be forced to build a business from scratch. I have been in these shoes and so I can say that the key I to get yourself out there, and be consist, even when it feels like no-one is interested.

Hang in there, your mompreneur business can succeed.
