How CBD Oil Has Made Me A Better Mother

Stress is often synonymous with motherhood. There is definitely not a dull moment in this parenting game with the never-ending preparing, errands, playdates, activities, drop-offs and so forth. It’s hard to escape the feeling that we are on a hamster wheel, and somewhere in the mix we tend to lose ourselves. Our needs most always get pushed further down on the to-do list. Understandably so because there are only so many hours in the day and we are working 2 or more full time jobs between being a mother, having a career or managing household responsibilities. It never ends. It’s exhausting just thinking about everything we do as mothers.

However, it doesn’t need to be. This feeling doesn’t need to be our “normal.”

By now, you may have heard about CBD Oil. I mean, it’s everywhere, from online to yoga studios and health food stores. For goodness sake, you can find CBD Oil at a gas station. In full disclosure, at first, I was intimidated by CBD Oil because it was hemp-derived and there were so many different terms to describe CBD products, including Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, Pure CBD, THC-free, Hemp Extract, CBD tincture, and so forth. I was also concerned about the psychoactive and intoxicating effects, but I later found out this is not prevalent when using CBD. It is actually THC that has this effect and there is only 0.3% THC in CBD Oil at the most, which isn't enough to have an effect at all. This is why delta 8 THC products are popular, as they have the health benefits of THC but only very mild psychoactive effects. There are plenty of resources on the web that you can use to find out what is delta 8 THC and similar information.

Just to add to the confusion, you may also see cannabidiol also referred to as CBN Oil – in fact this is a distinct compound with different and although it shares some similar medicinal properties with CBD, it is produced and interacts differently with the body. It is typically used to aid sleep, because of its sedative properties, and is usually found in tinctures that you can drop under your tongue. If like many parents, you are looking to get a good night’s sleep, and nothing else is working, perhaps you should try a reputable wholesale CBN oil that may help you to get your sleep patterns to get back on the right track.

I was very intrigued by the highly publicized benefits of CBD Oil and I was interested in learning more about the different types of CBD Oil. And so, my thorough research began, and I wanted to share what I have learned as well as why I started taking a pure natural CBD Oil

What is CBD Oil and How Does CBD Affect the Body?

In 2018, the Farm Bill Act legalized the cultivation of Registered United States Industrial Hemp, creating a spike in CBD products in the market. Cannabidiol (or for short CBD) is a natural constituent found in hemp. To-date, most of the scientific studies have been performed on CBD and THC, however there are over 100+ known cannabinoids in the hemp plant. Research is proving that ingesting multiple cannabinoids is more beneficial than ingesting one cannabinoid at-a-time. By consuming multiple cannabinoids, each compound intensifies the therapeutic properties and potency of one another to produce the entourage effect. Let me break this down further and use an analogy. We all have special talents that help us succeed and when we create a partnership with someone who possesses different skills, we can combine these abilities to achieve something greater and extraordinary. The whole of the two people together is greater than the individuals by themselves. The entourage effect acts in the same manner because the different cannabinoids in hemp amplify one another and produce a stronger influence. This is important to know, when considering how the cannabinoids in CBD Oil interact with our body’s endocannabinoid system.

Research has revealed that our endocannabinoid system is responsible for maintaining and controlling the body’s homeostasis (balanced system regulation). The body produces its own endogenous cannabinoids, but many scientists suggest that a large portion of the population suffers from “cannabinoid deficiency.” Without sufficient dietary cannabinoids, the human endocannabinoid system operates at less than peak efficiency. This may lead to a general health decline. Supplementing our diets with Full Spectrum CBD Oil could play an essential role in optimizing health.

The cannabinoids in CBD Oil interact with our endocannabinoid system to help these functions perform efficiently:

  • memory

  • learning

  • decision-making

  • emotional behavior

  • motor control

  • emotions

  • coordination

  • appetite

  • body temperature

  • and more

Now, my interest in CBD Oil officially peaked when I learned this.

Full-Spectrum vs Broad-Spectrum CBD

I’ve researched the various CBD types. And here’s what I’ve found.

Broad-spectrum CBD oil contains naturally occurring cannabis compounds without causing psychoactive effects caused by tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Using broad-spectrum CBD products allows you to gain health benefits from various cannabinoids and compounds from the hemp or cannabis plant. Some examples include cannabichromene (CBC), terpenes (responsible for flavor), and cannabinol.

CBDPuroil say that broad-spectrum CBD oil still contains the beneficial terpenes, but has 0% THC content, which means you won't fail a workplace drugs test. So, working mothers can take advantage of broad-spectrum CBD oil without worrying about anything.

On the other hand, full-spectrum CBD products possess all the cannabis compounds with low THC doses. Hence, the entourage effect is strong in full-spectrum CBD oil. It's the most natural CBD oil that undergoes the minimum amount of processing. Full-spectrum CBD oil doesn't contain more than 0.3% THC, so the psychedelic effects aren't evident.

CBD Oil Helps Anxiety, Stress and Sleep

CBD oil supplementation could help alleviate stress and anxiety. It may also help promote a restful sleep every time based on some narratives. Check the following details of how CBD oil could help you attain a healthier and happier life with reduced stress and anxiety, and better sleep:

·         CBD Helps Anxiety. There have been many research studies published by the likes of the Mayo Clinic, The International Journal of Science, Sage Journals and the US National Library of Medicine (National Institutes of Health). These clinical and science-based research studies specifically show that CBD demonstrates properties to counteract anxiety, from generalized social anxiety disorder (GAD)  to posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). As a mom I can certainly attest to having some degree of anxiety. The cannabinoids in Full Spectrum CBD Oil are shown to positively impact emotions, decision-making and motor control brought on by anxiety and stress.

·         Better Manage Everyday Stresses. The cannabinoids in CBD Oil help to support greater focus, clarity and calm so you can better manage those everyday stresses. What mom doesn’t want a little more calm and a little less stress?

·         Improved Sleep Cycles. My “mom” brain never turns off so this can make falling asleep challenging. However the cannabinoids in CBD help to relieve tension in the body and help to create a sense of relaxation so you can fall asleep quicker and stay asleep longer.

CBD Oil for Mothers

I hold many titles, but being a mother is the most rewarding job title. As you can also agree, it is the most demanding and challenging role with its ups and downs, highs and lows. It’s a beautiful mess. It isn’t neat and polished like photos on Instagram. With the benefits experienced through a daily CBD regimen, I have become more present for my children and am in a better position to give them greater support for their own mental well-being and health. I feel more cool, calm and collected. Here’s to less stress and less anxiety in my parenting game!
