Simple Tricks for Enhancing The Appearance Of Your Eyes
Are your eyes your favorite facial feature? Injectable neuromodulators, skin-rejuvenating treatments, and eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), explains the Philadelphia area’s Dr. Timothy Greco cosmetic team, are some of the options patients use to make this particular area of the face look more attractive. Topical skin products and in-office treatments can smooth the skin around the eyes to make them look youthful, as well as reduce dark circles, sun damage, and other signs of aging and damage. There are also other ways of accentuating the eyes’ unique shape and color.
Have you ever seen yourself in the mirror or in photos and noticed that the color of your eyes seems to be lighter or darker than it was the day before? Despite the common belief, our eyes don’t actually adopt a different tint of blue, green, or brown when our mood changes. However, our eye color can change slightly due to aging. In fact, eyes tend to darken during the first few years of life, and older adults might notice them becoming slightly lighter as they lose pigment later on. The eyes might also look different depending on what lighting you’re in, the color of your clothing, makeup, hair, and skin tone, the time of day, and the surrounding environment.
Even our facial expressions have an effect on the amount of light that reaches the eyes, and what angle it travels, both of which can make it seem as if our eye color changes depending on what mood we’re in. Actually, this is an optical illusion created by the way the unique light reflects off of our eyes in a given situation.
The colorful part of the eyes, which is called the iris, can be brown, black, blue, green, hazel, or a combination of any of these shades, depending on genetics. Each person’s irises are unique, and there are also many shapes and positions to the eyes on the face. Any procedure to alter the lids or surrounding tissue and make the eyes more visible, open, and rejuvenated should take all of a patient’s unique features into account.
Whether someone’s eyes are naturally alert or enhanced with surgery, their appearance can be captivating when we meet them for the first time. Here are some makeup tips you can use to really make your eyes pop, no matter what color they are!
· Brown Eyes
Whether your eyes are a rich, soulful shade of dark brown or a warm amber, virtually any color will flatter them. However, some types of eyeliners and eyeshadows will look better on certain shades of brown than others. Plums, dark greens, and grays work well with dark eyes, while lighter shades of violet, green, gold, and bronze bring out lighter flecks in a medium brown color. Use a shimmery eye shadow to give brown eyes a brighter appearance. Metallic or neutral shades pair well with this earthy hue.
· Blue Eyes
Naturally sky or ocean blue eyes are thought to be very attractive and desirable, even without makeup. When you’re applying any product, try not to hide the eyes too much, drown them out, or make them look dull. Choosing the right color is essential. A lot of people assume that they need to use blue makeup around blue eyes, but this is often one of the worst things you can do. If you feel you have to use blue, stick to a very deep shade of navy—but warm orange hues and rich browns are best for truly setting them off.
· Green Eyes
Green eyes are already quite vivid and intense, so you don’t need to choose strong colors to make them stand out. It’s all about creating contrast—rather than choosing blues or greens that are too close to your eye color. Subtle, neutral browns will always look great if you want to keep things casual, but you can make the green in your eyes stand out by wearing purples, pinks, and reds. Switch things up by choosing a gray or brown eyeliner.
