Planning A Vacation? Why Not Try Something Different This Year

Map.png

At this time of year, we all tend to want to shake off the winter blues by putting some exciting plans in place. Whether that’s lunch with your loved ones, or a trip is a local town, by starting to increase your social life again, you will often find that you’ll have something to look forward to. But sometimes, these smaller plans aren’t enough to get you excited. Instead, you may need to plan something in that’s much more exciting. And what could be more exciting at this time of the year than going on vacation? When you want to give yourself the best boost and have future plans in place that make you smile, nothing quite beats it.

But, if you’re someone that tends to stick to the same things, you may find that going on the same kind of vacation as always isn’t going to do the trick. Because it’s not always that exciting. Even if you have fussy kids and you’re just trying to keep them entertained, you may be able to shake up your vacation for this year in a way that keeps them happy too. But with what? Well, that’s where this post comes in. So prepared to be inspired. Taking some of the things you may be used to, and throwing in a few wild cards, let’s take a look at how you can shake up your vacation with something different this year.

New England Coast

If you love to go on beach vacations, but you’re a little tired of heading down south, why not think about head east? Because in New England, there are some really incredible vacation spots that could give you the break that you need. With the likes of Cape Cod or Martha’s Vineyard, you’ll be really spoilt for choice. Days spent on the beach enjoying fresh seafood can’t be beaten!

West Coast Beach Break

Or maybe you’ve not really been on a beach vacation for years? When that’s the case, you’re probably in need of a good old-fashioned dose of the west coast sunshine. And there’s a lot to choose from. Because the California coast is calling your name. If you want to spend days on the beach, playing volleyball, and enjoying some first-class shopping, then San Diego, San Francisco, or Santa Monica is where you should head.

Family Camping Trip

Camping

Next up, you might like to think about heading on a camping trip. Because if you tend to go to the same kind of resorts year after year, you may all be in need of a change. A great idea for this is camping. There is a full range of family camps that you could consider going to that will give you a kind of full-service experience. You’ll also find that there’s a range of activities for your children to do too, which can often be more enjoyable for them than a traditional vacation.

Wilderness Survival

If you love the idea of camping, but you want to take it one step further, you could avoid the family camp idea and head out into the wilderness. For this, you can also find some great spots ideal for camping, just without the camp element attached. This can really appeal when you want to be more remote. You’ll need to pack things like your own food, your ferro rod, and other survival gear to cook and keep warm. But, it can be a super fun way to do things differently.

Adventure Vacation

From here, there’s also a full range of active vacation ideas like these that you could consider. If you do want something a bit more adventure based, there are lots of different spots across the country that could accommodate it, depending on what you want to do.

Skiing

Up next, there’s always skiing to consider. Part active vacation, part relaxing vacation, it can often be a great compromise for you all. When you take part in the après-ski, it can allow you to have that bit of release time after a day of activity. Again, you won’t even have to leave the country to do this. With resorts like Aspen or Vail, you can get the full experience. And even if you do want to hop over the border, there’s always Canada to consider.

City Break

As something completely different once again, you could consider heading on a city break. Maybe it’s just the two of you heading away? Then seeing some of our countries incredible cities for a few days could be exactly what you need. Sightseeing and dining out can be a lot of fun when you need to switch off.

All-Inclusive Resort

Maybe you want to head somewhere that you can completely relax without having to lift a finger? And by that, of course, we mean that the kids are covered for activities too. Then you’re definitely going to want to go to an all-inclusive family resort. If you don’t want to travel too far, then Mexico is definitely where you want to go. A week or two of relaxation could be exactly what you need.

European Adventure

If you’ve done a lot of the above, then it’s time to hop over the pond. Because Europe could be calling. And if you’re yet to see some of Europe’s finest spots, from Paris to London to Rome - or even the South of France or Italian countryside, it’s time to go. For a change of culture, incredible food, and some great weather too, your European awaits.

Road Trip

Finally, you could also think about doing an old-school road trip. Because we all know that these can be a lot of fun for you all. Simply take a look at some of the most bucket-list worthy road trips our country has to offer and see where they can take you. The kids will love to see a lot of school sites and you’ll even be able to take in some of our nation’s most beautiful places too. It’s a chance to really shake things up and make sure you get the most out of your vacation time.
