4 Tips For Organizing A Baby Shower

Organizing a baby shower can seem overwhelming if you've never done it before. There are all sorts of things to consider, from what to put on the list, to how you'll entertain your guests. The type of baby shower your throw will depend on a wide variety of factors. To help you organize as best as you can, here are some of the best tips for throwing a fabulous baby shower.

Send Out a Baby Registry

The first thing you should do is make sure that you have a baby registry created. Whether you're throwing the party for yourself, or for someone else, it's important that the list is full of plenty of items that will be useful not only for decorating the new bedroom, but also covering basic needs like changing supplies, clothing, and more.

Make sure that all of the guests have received the baby registrywell before the date to allow plenty of time for them to purchase.

If you're throwing the party for someone else who is a first time mom, they may need some help knowing what to put on the registry. After all, if you've never had a baby before, you may not know the most important items. That's why, it's important that first time parents have seasoned parents there to help guide them through what would be the best choice for their registry.

Choose The Right Date

Typically a baby shower is thrown about three months before the mother to be is going to give birth. However, it's not unheard of to do it slightly before. It is recommended however to not wait two long into the pregnancy, as you could risk the mom going into labor before the baby shower date. Make sure that you choose a date that gives the mom enough time to choose what she needs for the baby, and isn't too stressed about going to an event so close to her due date.

Choose a Theme

Most baby showers come with a theme. The theme will be determined by what kind of a personality type the mom to be has. Perhaps she's a big fan of Paris, or maybe she loves a certain sport. Choose a theme that goes well with your guest of honor, and will not be overly complicated to decorate for.

If you can't think of a theme, then it's always OK to go with a general one. for example, if the baby is a boy, then a simple it's a boy theme should be fine.

Don’t Forget Entertainment

Besides providing drinks and snacks for your guests, it is important that you have some kind of entertainment. Usually this comes in the form of games, or other activities for all of your guests to do together. The idea is to get everyone involved, and celebrating the soon to be birth of a new bundle of joy!
