Confidence Is About Learning To Love Who You Are Now, Not Who You Were Then
Confidence is something that a lot of people find difficult, especially after they have had a baby. It’s not an easy thing to do, we know, especially when you no longer look the same as you did pre-pregnancy. But, we’re going to let you in on a little secret and tell you that it’s absolutely okay for this to be the case. So many women go through this and they lose their confidence because of one of the most beautiful things that a body can do. This isn’t right, and you need to get your confidence back as soon as you can. Keep reading down below if you would like a little more information about how we think that you can do this.
Your Body Has Changed, Good!
Yes, your body has changed. Of course your body has changed! You grew a life in your body, and you then brought that life into the world, so how can you expect your body to look how it did before? The idea of bounce back culture is not only damaging to women, but it’s also a highly unfair expectation. Your body has been through a huge trauma and you currently have an internal wound the size of a plate left inside you if you have only just given birth. If you had your baby a while ago then the wound will be smaller, but your body is still recovering and will continue to do so for years to come.
So, of course your body is going to change, you have just done something absolutely incredible. Look at your body and know that it kept you and your baby safe through the pregnancy and delivery, and when you look at it this way, everything seems a little better.
Exercise On A Regular Basis
If you really don’t feel good about yourself, then perhaps you might want to take up exercise daily. To be honest, you should be doing this anyway as it’s good for your health and mental health, but we know that the stress of having a baby is sometimes enough to steer us away from this option. We’re not suggesting that you have to go and join the gym or anything, but some simple exercises in your living room might be good enough for now. Wait until you are fully well again, and then you can do some more exercise, set some goals and go from there.
Sometimes you just need to feel in control if you are trying to get your confidence back, and this allows you to do this.
Your Attitude Has Changed, Fantastic!
Your attitude to life has changed and you no longer feel 100% like the person you were before? There’s nothing wrong with this. You will likely see life a little differently now that you have your little bundle of joy anyway, but if you feel as though you’re a different person that’s normal also. You don’t have to be who you were before in order to have confidence in yourself and that is what we want you to understand. It’s okay to be confident in the new attitude and the new body that you have.
You Do Not Need To Be Different
You do not need to be anything other than who you are. You do not need to look like anything other than what you look like. We live in a society that thrives on telling women especially how they should look, dress, act and feel, but you don’t have to listen to this. It’s okay to be unapologetically who you are, and not to care what others have to say about that. Of course, taking care of yourself is still important and you should be doing this to keep your health in check. This means eating well, exercising, getting enough sleep (where you can) and whatever else you can think of.
If you have an area in which you don’t feel confident, then you can work on that to bring your confidence up. For example, if you have skin problems, you can look into the skin benefits of salicylic acid to see if it might be the right choice for you. Look at your different options for different issues, and face them as you feel is the right way to. At the end of the day, the only person who can make your decisions are you.
Surround Yourself With Positivity
You have got to surround yourself with positivity if you have any hope of learning to love who you are now and being confident in this person. You never know, you might actually find that you like this person a little better once you get to know them. Let go of the past, and ensure that the people you have around you are promoting your growth and championing this cause, rather than being toxic and making you feel bad for changing. We all grow and change in life, so people can get on board or get off the train.
Accept Yourself As You Are
Lastly, we just want to say that you should always accept yourself as you are. You do not owe a single person in the world a single thing and if it’s at the expense of your confidence and peace? Absolutely not. But, if you do not accept yourself as you are, how can you hope that anyone else will either? Self love starts with you, and we highly encourage you to do this as best you can as quickly as you can.
Hopefully, you have found this article helpful and now see some of the things that you need to know about confidence. Confidence is about learning to love who you are now, rather than clinging onto someone that you used to be. There is absolutely no use in hanging on to the past as you are not that person anymore. We wish you the very best of luck, and hope that you manage to find some confidence in yourself soon.
