Mom Care: Morning Routines You Should Follow To Keep You Sane Throughout The Day

Having a morning routine could be the most effective way of improving your performance in the different areas of your life. It can lead you to the path of positive thinking and happiness as you’re basically starting your day with an organized set of activities that makes the most out of your time without leaving you feeling too exhausted.

Rather than allowing your responsibilities to get the best of you and negatively impact your life, why not commit to a daily routine for you to stay on track?  Here is one morning routine you may follow to keep you sane throughout the day:

1. Make Coffee For Your Morning Drink

Admit it--there are days when you don’t feel like getting out of your bed. Doing it seems like a struggle between life and death. Maybe, it’s raining or snowing outside. Perhaps, you had the best dream ever, and you’d want to continue with it. Or, maybe, you’re exhausted and want to lie on your bed all day. Whatever your reason is, you need a morning coffee!

Sometimes, even if you get enough sleep, you still feel sluggish and lethargic throughout the day. Fortunately, caffeine can solve these usual symptoms. Turn on your coffee maker and set the timer to start brewing your coffee. As you know, caffeine nutrients can keep your brain running at normal speed, especially in the morning when the last thing you’d want to happen is to be ten steps behind other people.

2. Create And Send Thank-You Notes

It’s easy to get consumed by yourself--your thoughts and emotions--in the first hours of the morning. So, why not lead yourself to a positive headspace and spend a few minutes being grateful for those who, in one way or another, have helped you reach the place where you are now?  Create thank-you notes and send them to folks who matter to you.

A thank-you email will do. Anyone who’ll receive it will surely get surprised and feel appreciated. The best thing about it is that it’s fulfilling on your end, which could be an excellent start for your day.

3. Meditate

Although meditation could mean different things to different people, it’s always all about mindfulness, focusing your mind on a particular activity, thought, or object. It will help you train your attention and awareness, thus achieving an emotionally calm, mentally clear, and stable state.

You can try sitting down for 30 minutes to an hour for your meditations. Well, it’s okay to do it for as fast as five minutes if you’re in a hurry. What’s most important is that you try to stay at one point and relax. If you’re not sure how to do it, looking for a short audio session on YouTube would be a great idea.

4. Set Your Intentions For The Day

Many people agree that there are times when they sit down to work without even knowing what they really want to accomplish for the day. If you’re one of those people, you need to implement some changes now. What you can do is to set one or more intentions for the day in the morning. It helps ensure that you’ll make the most out of your time since you’ll have some sort of a guide you can always keep coming back to during the day.

5. Do Yoga

If you’re one of those stay at home moms who spend most of their time sitting on a chair blogging, selling online, or freelancing to earn money, chances are you’ve already experienced your body getting stiff and tight. It’s common for people who sit for a prolonged period of time each day to have their flexibility go a bit downhill. What you can do to keep yourself loose and limber throughout the day is to spend at least 15 minutes doing some yoga stretches in the morning.

6. Make Breakfast

Since you were a kid, you’ve likely heard people saying that a good day starts with a good breakfast. Well, it’s absolutely true--how you fuel your body in the morning can influence your physical health, energy levels, and mental attitude throughout the day. A healthy breakfast will allow your body to function more properly, and will help you feel more alert and focused.

Final Thoughts

It’s essential to optimize your mood and state of mind as you begin your day. It means preparing your body and mind for all the things that lie ahead. By following a morning routine, like the one mentioned above, you’ll increase your chance of being more productive and achieving your goals for the day.
