What Can Be Found In Plastic Toys?

f you have young children, then most probably toys are your area of expertise. It is difficult to keep your young ones occupied for a longer period of time, which means that to keep them busy, you have to get creative. Usually, “being creative” has a lot to do with buying or creating new toys. If you don’t want to break the bank soon, you might want to choose toys that might not be of the best quality, but if after a few months of use, they all end up being unused, then is there a point in choosing toys of the highest quality? If you think that buying cheap plastic toys is an excellent idea, then you might want to reconsider. Why? Usually, the plastic toys are made of PVC, and some of the chemical substances that can be found in PVC could be dangerous to your kids.

●        Phthalates are often found in squishy toys. They might look innocent, but don’t let their look fool you! Phthalates can have a negative impact on your child’s hormones, though that’s not all - it also has carcinogenic properties.

●        Lead is often used to make toys stronger and more durable, though unfortunately, it can have a plethora of negative effects on your young ones. It can damage the nervous system of your children and cause hearing loss. Studies have shown that lead can be the cause of ADHD among children.

●        Bisphenol A is common in toys and plastic bottles, and unless your children don’t chew on it then there shouldn’t be any danger. Unfortunately, if you have kids, then you probably know that it can be pretty challenging to convince them that they shouldn’t chew on something.

It doesn’t mean that all plastic toys are dangerous, but you should be careful about what elements are made of plastic.
