An excited Nahla Aubry spends the day with doting dad Gabriel as mom Halle Berry gives birth to son (See The Pic)

While her mom was giving birth to her new baby brother on Saturday, little Nahla Aubry couldn't have been in better hands.

The five-year-old spent the day with her doting dad, Gabriel Aubry, as the pair enjoyed some father-daughter bonding in LA.

And by the looks of it, Nahla was having the time of her life.

The youngster was in awe of something up in the sky as the cute twosome strolled along, hand in hand.

She even got her model father in on the act, as she eagerly pointed out to him what had caught her eye in the distance.

Halle Berry's daughter looked sweet and summery in her white dress, which she teamed with a trendy pale blue denim waistcoat and white sandals.

Gabriel, 38, looked smart as always in his dark jeans, grey shoes and blue and white checked shirt, which he casually rolled up at the sleeves.

He wore his long brown-blonde tresses partially up and pulled back from his face in a bun and carried a brown paper bag as the duo made their way along the quiet street.

Gabriel has endured a contentious relationship with his ex's new husband, Olivier Martinez, over the years, with the pair getting into a very public brawl on Thanksgiving last year.

However, with Halle and the 47-year-old Frenchman having now welcomed a child of their own, it remains to be seen whether or not the men can put aside their differences for the sake of their children.

Halle, also 47, gave birth to a son at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood on Saturday - a popular choice for expectant A-listers.

The newborn's name has not yet been released.
